Mom, i dedicate this song to you.

Hey mom look at me.
Think back and talk to me
Did I grow up according to plan?
And do you think I'm wasting my time...
Doing things I wanna do
But it hurts when you disapprove all along.

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't pretend that I'm alright
And you can't change me

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

I try not to think
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero?
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don't care anymore

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't stand another fight
And nothing's alright

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

Nothing's gonna change the things that you said
Nothing's gonna make this right again
Please don't turn your back
I can't believe it's hard just to talk to you
But you don't understand

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

A comment in my shoutbox has helped me realise that my blog has been one of the most inactive blogs around. Possibly because i've not updated since Wednesday, neither have i commented on any news lately, nor have i said anything funny or marginally interesting. But hey, i'm a busy man! I hardly have any time to blog inbetween studying for tests, doing projects, watching rested DVDs/VCDS, watching Man U and Real Madrid draw 1-1, watching american idol....

There are letters going in fast and furious to all newspapers calling for the return of the Singapore national team into the Malaysia Cup. Now, i was a big, and i mean REALLY BIG fan during the Malaysia cup days. those were the days when almost everyone watched the Malaysia Cup. When Singapore played, it would always be shown live on TV. Practically the whole block would watch. When Singapore scored, the whole block would erupt with a sound of "GOAL!!"

Those were the days. The days when almost everyone was supporting Singapore soccer. Fast forward to today, and the S-League. I wouldn't call it a total faliure, but 9 out of 10 people i know don't care about it. Who cares if Home United thrases Woodlands 10-0? Who cares if clubs get thrown out of the S-League only because they can't find a sponser, league standing notwithstanding? Like when Jurong FC will not be playing this year even though they finished 6th in the league. that's mid-table. The bottom club stays in because they have a sponser, and now they're bringing in a Japanese third division club to complete the league...

but i digress. While i hate what the S-League has become, and miss what the Malaysia Cup used to be, i believe that sending the National Team back to the Malaysia Cup is a huge step backwards. As lously, boring and low quality as the S-League has become, the FAS should concentrate on improving the quality instead of spreading rumours that we're going back to the Malaysia Cup. If we send our national team to the Malaysia Cup, we can only be as good as a malaysian CLUB. Granted, while we were playing there we actually could beat malaysia and could play decently(for southeast asia standards). But how much can you improve playing in another country's club competition? By developing our own league, we can only get better and better as the standard of the league improves. If we go back to the Malaysia Cup, we will never be as good as Malaysia, much less better than them.

Those people pushing for a Malaysia Cup return are just living on memories of the good ol' Malaysia Cup days, not for the betterment of Singapore Soccer.

Believe it or not, i have just implemented Haloscan Comments. Possibly because i can't depend on myshoutbox.com's shoutboxes. so many bugs.. sigh.
I have realised that i've missed out on three important blogging styles. Once again, i'll be using the scenerio of a pet dog dying. They are :

The Never-Update Blogger

Sorry for not updating. Busy, busy busy. Anyway, my dog died today. Its sad. I really missed him. I promise i'll update soon! Really!
*doesn't update for another month*

The News Commentry

My dog died today. I think it could be because its too old or something, i'm not sure. But hey, nothing we can do about it, right? I think that people should make sure that they take care of their dogs properly. I mean, there are so many dogs out there being mistreated by their owners. The SPCA should have stiffer penalties for dog abusers. This needs to be stopped.

The Cynical Satirist

My dog died today. It really died. Could be because its too old, could be because of anything. Or it could be that we don't have enough time for it. Like we don't have enough time for our kids. Seriously, the government should wake up. In Singapore, the government keeps telling us to have kids, have sex, get married young. They even have a Romancing Singapore campaign. Bah. The only way to get more kids in Singapore is to buy a few thousand baby goats from Malaysia.

The I'm-Too-Cheem-For-You Scholar

My mongrel relinquished its spirit and joined the ranks of the deceased today. Life diminishes as time passes. I conjecture that it is inevitable that life will end sooner or later.
*i faint from using the thesaurus so much. i'm not meant to write cheem stuff*

In LIFE today i found out that, believe it or not, William Hung was offered a contract worth 24k. TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND. And what he did next amazes me even more, and now i have even more respect for the man. He turned down the contract. He may be taking singing lessons now, but he knows that while he is ultra popular, making a CD now would not be a good move. It wouldn't sell very well. William Hung still has his feet firmly on the ground. I really respect the man.

So far, in the blogging circles, i have discovered that there are many, many blogging styles. And this is from surfing friend's blogs as well as other friend's blogs. And i have narrowed down the blog writing styles to the following few. It is nothing personal against anybody, as the way you write your blog is probably the same as someone else out there.

I am going to write a blog entry about a pet dog dying in a few different styles. Here we go...

The News Reporter

Earlier today my pet dog died. It was at approximately 6pm. I had just reached home from school and was about to eat dinner when i found the dog dead in the balcony. I guess its time to get another dog.

The Angsty Teenager

My dog died today. Why. I want to know why. Why does the pain never stop? They say when it rains, it pours. And i really understand that phrase. My life is in a mess. I hate it. I just hate it.

The Vulgar ****

My ****ing dog died today. Why the **** did it died? **** this. I'm going to watch some ****ing TV.

The Comedian

LOL. My dog died this evening. What the hell. She was being a real bitch anyway.

The Philosopher

Life. What is life all about? This evening my dog of 3 years died. And it made me think. Life is so short. Am i really doing what i am meant to do, or am i just floating through it, like a dog? Dog's don't really have purpose. But what about me? I have to do something meaningful, or my life will be worth nothing. Just another grain of sand on the beach.

The Everyone-And-Everything-Sucks Person

This sucks. My stupid dog died. It must be because my sister forgot to feed it again. I told her so many times to feed the stupid dog. But she never learns. It'll never get into her thick head, will it? Why do i have to live with such stupid people.

More to come as i think of it. Is it funny? probably not, but i had fun writing it:)
I was thinking about the story of the taxi driver who watched porn while on the job, and something came to my mind..

that guy really has a sex drive. AHAHAHAHAHAHA

While on the topic of porn....

New York Driver Nabbed While Watching Porn Movie

Andre Gainey found out the hard way that in the state of New York it's illegal to drive while watching porn.
Police said the 35-year old man from Clifton Park, New York, was watching a adult movie called "Chocolate Foam" on Tuesday night while driving his Mercedes Benz in the town of Schenectady when he was spotted by an officer at a stop light.

Police spokesman Pete Frizoni said detectives pulled Gainey over when they saw the movie playing on screens embedded in the car's headrests. When they confronted him, they saw another screen in the passenger-side visor was facing Gainey, allowing him to watch the movie while driving.

Wow.. now i've heard everything.. porn while driving a taxi... >.<
Ah, yes. Apparently my previous post has caused some misunderstanding, causing some people to believe that i actually am still surfing pr0n. Remember, i said the statistic meant that 5 out of 5 guys SURFED porn. As in the past tense. Whether they were still surfing it is not included in the survey. And i am part of the group that USED to do it, but have stopped since then, after i was old enough to realise what negative consequences surfing porn has. And i believe that's what the Jabez boys did, too.. a least i hope so! hehe... I think almost all boys, the horny creatures that we are, have surfed porn at some stage in our life. Whether we continue to do it after that is another matter all together, and i say, once again, that i have stopped surfing porn a long time back:)

Friday, February 20, 2004

I heard on the news(on TV Mobile on the way to school) that, according to a survey done by Singapore Polytechnic, 62% of youths have surfed pornographic websites. In other words, about 6 in 10 youths have surfed porn before. My theory is that 5 out of 5 guys surfed porn before, while 1 out of 5 girls surfed porn before. So that makes 6 out of 10, or 60%.

DISCLAIMER : By no means am i saying that porn is good. Porn is evil, degrading women, making them into sex objects. People that surf porn will begin to view women as sex objects instead of people.

But i still think that 5 out of 5 guys and 1 out of 5 girls make up the 6 out of 10 statistic.
Ultra-plunging necklines(all the way to the WAIST) and other poor excuses for clothes, with cloth that covers only the parts that would be illegal if shown are getting more and more popular. You only have to look at the MTV Asia Awards to see Michelle Branch in a ultra-plunging neckline. I won't even get started on Britney Spears, J-Lo, Beyonce, Christina... But the question is, if you are female and want to dress like that(i.e. revealing more than you cover), what should you use so that you don't get sued or arrested by the police here in Singapore? You gotta use Hollywood Fasion Tape. Good ol' double sided tape is not reliable. The Hollywood Fasion Tape(thus named cos all big female hollywood stars use it) is perfect for sticking cloth to skin. No boo-boos. No wardobe malfunction. Pretty cool invension, i must say, for girls who love to show off. So go out now and buy your copy if you're female! You'll never need to worry about unintentionally flashing(only if you don't want to get arrested. If you got an exhibitionist streak in you, you can ignore this hope something pops out) ever again! Keep the boobies where they should be, in the cloth!(although i question the need to, considering usually everything but t3h Nipples are shown)

Thursday, February 19, 2004

i was reading the papers yesterday and i found out that the taiwanese boyband 5566 came to singapore for the MTV Asia Awards. They were signing stuff at Junction Eight. that's fine, right? Until i found out the amount of fans they had queuing up for their autographs. the line stretched out of Junction Eight for a total of 1 km. It was one of those winding lines, not straight. The boys had to come in a cisco police van, because the organisers were afraid they would be mobbed should they come in their normal tour bus. And rightly so, considering that some people(students) lined up for a total of ELEVEN DAYS to see the band. I can't believe these people. I mean, i love Mandy Moore and all, but never would i line up for 11 days to see her. I wouldn't even line up for 5 days. Or even one day. Then again... one day does sound alright....

Talkingcock.com did a Top 20 Reasons Why Singaporeans Aren’t Having Sex or Children. They are all funny, but my favourite is this :

18. How do you know Singaporeans aren’t having enough sex? It’s just being exported. Singapore women only want to have sex with foreigners so they can cabut the country, while Singapore men are having sex in foreign countries like China, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.
Did you know that TV mobile is turning 3 this valentines day(which was a few days ago)? I can't believe its already been 3 years. It feels like yesterday when TV Mobile was just staring out, with the TV pictures shaking, stuttering and stopping. Then the voice going ultra low for a while. It was funny when it went low, but when the TV starting squeaking and squealing and making sharp noises while skipping, then i got very irritated. TV Mobile has gone a long way since then. Now it hardly skips, and there are very few glitches. Cybernet, Movies, Games and Videos have gotten me through many bus rides quicker. Although the rest of the shows still suck. Bus rides will be different without TV Mobile. Plus now they're showing awesome animations from Nanyang Polytechnic School of Design. The fact that its Nanyang Polytechnic, the school i go to, is totaly not related to how great the animations are. Seriously. Anything that Nanyang Polytechnic produces is absolutely excellent. And i'm not biased. Not one bit.

I read that some lesbian woman auctioned off her virginity on a website for 20k+ pounds. Wow. That's some expensive sex.

Ah.. the Sunday New Paper. Like i've said countless times before, my favourite newspaper of the week. This week its all about love...

I used to always question why good girls always love bad boys. Why do girls keep going back to guys that hurt them again and again? Why do girls stand by their guy even though he cheats on them again and again? Even though he keeps hurting them, both physically and emotionally? The psychological point of view was given in the New Paper. There are many reasons, but one of the biggest reasons is that these girls have the misconception that love means that they must be hurt. If they go out with someone who does not hurt them, it makes them feel funny. Well, i can't really understand why they have that misconception. Seriously. Why in the world would love have to mean being hurt?

I have also heard that its because they want to be the one to 'change him'. And i guess i see that point. I mean, its a real big boost for the ego when someone 'changes' because of you. I guess this point makes sense... which is why the bad boys win:( but then, i heard that good girls date bad boys, but marry good boys ^.^)

Another part of the New Paper talks about what women want. Apparently, if three women's magazines are to be believed, what women want nowadays is not romance. Its sex. Women are getting horny. Women want to have one night stands, they don't want to commit, etc etc. In fact.. *gasp*.. women are becomming like men! Then.. after that they surveyed Singaporean women and apparently not that many of them think that way. Most of them still want romance. Phew. i was getting worried for a moment there. If women became like men, we'd all be in big trouble.
Valentines day. Bah. I hate the day. So comercialised. Prices of everything go up. Where is the love? Is love showing the girl how much things you can buy with money? Shouldn't the girl accept you for who you are? Yah. But that's not my complaint anyway. What valentines day does is that it reminds single guys like me what they're missing. It reminds us that we are still alone. That we have no partners. That many other people in the world have someone to go out with, but sad, sad us. We do not. No girl loves us. No girl wants to go out with us. Before people start saying that i don't need a girlfriend, let me just state that I agree. A girlfriend just distracts me from doing work for God. A girlfriend, if i get one for the wrong reasons, will do me more harm than good. I should never be desperate for a girlfriend. I mean, who needs one anyway? Right now, without a girlfriend, i can do what i want without bothering about what someone else thinks. I don't need a girlfriend to boost the old ego. My self-esteem is good enough. I don't need a girlfriend for companionship. That's what church is for.

That's right. Who needs a girlfriend? Certainly not me.

Anyone wanna go out with me?

No updates on thursday. Why? I guess i was too busy slacking.. la la la...

Although yesterday i did watch American Idol. It was a waste of my time. I mean, the show was half an hour. They had 15 minutes of advertisements. They had like 14 minutes of waiting, showing repeats etc. Boring stuff(to me anyway). But one thing that got to me was the SMS system. I seriously can't stand it. It drives me nuts. Some things people say are very stupid. They keep harping on and on about how William Hung is the real american idol, how they want him to come back for the wild card show, how he should win, etc etc. Others sms greetings to friends, totally unrelated to the show whatsoever. Others make stupid statements. Can't stand the SMS system. But then, it brings in Mediacorp a lot of money, so no way they're going to stop it..

Talking about William Hung, i shall list out, in terms of popularity(song requests on the radio), all the american idols so far..

Clay Aiken > Kelly Clarkson > William Hung > Kimberly Locke(yeah, she has a single out) Ruben Studdard > Justin Grabani(however you spell that).

Clay Aiken beats every by leaps and bounds. William Hung, however, beats Kimberly Locke and Ruben Studdard in terms of song requests. Props to him. I love the guy. I really, really love the guy.

Topless in Singapore? I thought it'll never happen. But it did. Two tourists came to Singapore recently. And they sunbathed topless at East Coast Park. And surprising a lot of people. The offenders said this :

"We thought it was up to the individual whether to go topless or not, and for us, we don't care of people look at our breasts. But we didn't know it was illegal here."

I guess it is up to the individual. What are you view on going topless? I guess i'm rather against it. Like it or not, especially for guys(or rather, only for guys) looking at a woman's breasts is never just admiring God's creation. Almost always it leads to lust. Or in my case, at least. So going topless is guarenteed to make men lust. The girl may not care about it, but hey, i care. As much as i would want to see a woman's exposed boobies, i know its not going to do good things to my mind. So i'd rather not. When you go topless, its never only about the individual. Its also about everyone that's looking.

How long will it be before Singapore legalises topless sunbathing? I have no idea. Singapore was about two years behind everyone else when it came to the Bikini. In two years time will Singaporean women be sunbathing topless? Will Singaporeans ever be that daring? I guess we'll wait and see.

38 Year old Lorry Driver said this :

Its not a big deal. I just admire their figures and I am quite appreciate of their bravery.

Yeah.... Riiiiiight....

17 boys were made to stand outside for 7 hours for posessing a pornography in some school. Without food or drink. Many parents were angry at the way they were treated, while others were angry at their children for actually doing something like that. One kid even was sent to the hospital because he had an intestine condition that requires him to have food and water or the walls of his intestine would fuse together, and he didn't bother to tell the teachers that. The boy bought the porno VCD for $10, and got all his friends in trouble.

My question is, why in the world would you buy porno when its available for free all over the internet, KAZZA, WinMX and other file-sharing programs?

Some writer wrote in to 8 Days talking about their previous issue featuring Sharon Au and how she buys branded goods and stuff, even though she says she's not materialistic. Or rather, slamming Sharon Au. But what's wrong with a star buying branded goods? This is the letter :

Your Fake vs Real issue was of special interest because you seem to have missed the biggest fake of all - your cover girl sharon Au. I don't think its wrong that she is materialistic, but why does she try to hide it by suggesting money is of no value to her? This is the same host who is the first to cry at charity shows. Her heart goes out to the less fortunate when the cameras are rolling but off camera she would rather spend her money on designer goods and "buy happiness now" than to share it with the underprivileged.

Andrew See

OK... while i agree with the first part that if she thinks money is of no value to her she shouldn't be buying designer goods. But the second part? So he is criticising Sharon for buying designer goods and not giving the money to charity? Just because she hosts charity shows? I have no idea how much money Sharon Au gives to charity, and i have no idea how much Andrew gives to charity, but i don't think that he should expect her to stop buying designer goods with the money she worked so hard for. While i admit that giving it to charity may be a better option, he certainly could have phrased his letter better. He doesn't portray himself very well in the letter. What right has the guy to say something like that about Sharon Au, eh? Is he the perfect guy who gives all his money to charity?

And Britney Spears opens her mouth again :

Singer Britney Spears has denied her new raunchy image is setting a bad influence for her young fans - she's simply letting them live their dreams.

The 21-year-old has posed for scantily clad pictures, and publicly kissed MADONNA recently, as well as bursting back onto the pop scene with a provocative live show - but Spears strongly denies accusations her sexed up new image is corrupting her young fan base.

She argues, "That's ridiculous. It's inspiring for a kid to know that you can have a dream that can happen. It's positive to see that you can fantasise about being on stage. It's like dress-up and being a kid."

Spears is particularly erked at parents who now stop their children from watching her perform - as it could lead to drug addiction problems in later life.

She says, "I feel sorry for the kids whose parents don't let them watch TV. Those are the kids who go to college and become drug heads because they've been so cooped up all their lives."

Ahh... so acting like a slut, wearing only diamonds for a music video, stripping on stage and kissing madonna is actually a good influence on kids? While i admit that its up to the kids themselves to decide who they'll be influenced by, i think that statement is just WRONG. Kids that don't watch tv go to college and take drugs because they've been so cooped up all their lives?????!!!111 how in the world did she come to that conclusion?
Ahh.. i've had no time to update for two days. Sorry bout that. I've been busy. Or rather, i viewed watching The Last Samurai, playing CM4 and Gunbound more important than blogging. And in that time, Faith has greatly overtaken me in the blogging department with her extremely long post. Bleh.

Everyone loves William Hung. If you don't know who he is, do a quick google search and you'll find out. But what a lot of people don't know is that he has a single. And what even MORE people don't know is that his single has hit.. get this.. NUMBER FIVE on the Power98 Top 10 countdown, beating even Ruben Studdard. Way to go William Hung!

Yesterday, while waiting to watch The Last Samurai, I saw Ann Kok at Plaza Singapura. I used to LOVE Ann Kok. She was one of my favourite actresses. She was with some guy. She looks decently cute in person, but she's so much cuter on TV. Her career nosedived when she left Mediacorp. While at Mediacorp, she was Da Jie(Big Sister) Number 3 believe it or not. When she left for Taiwan to 'futher' her career, she flopped. Then she came back and joined Mediaworks, where she got bad acting roles in bad dramas. Ah... why oh why did she leave Mediacorp?

Just read in The New Paper that a study done by a professor in National Institute of Education says that multilpe choice questions actually discourage creativity and critical thinking, and may penalise children who think more deeply. This is because childre, especially those who think deeply, may see alternatives to the question that the teacher has not seen, and have no choice but to pick an answer the teacher has selected for him to choose.

Uhh.. ok... tell that to the poor kid who just burned his weekend away studying for that specific test.
Wow.. my shoutbox has a lot of activity today... posts before sunday are all gone already.. hehehe..

Anyway, not much news for me to comment on today, yet, seeing that i'm yet to read the newspapers. Except TODAY. In the letters section, there's a title that says Pink Dolphins : Singapore's Reputation at Stake. For a moment i thought they were talking about the drink, until i found out it was once again calling on Underwater World to free the dolphins. The letter is very cheem. Very difficult to understand because of my extremely limited english, so i ignored it.

Another article that caught my eye is one on t3h b00bies. There's an article questioning why adults have made that part anatomy of the human body into something vulgar, when it is something beautiful. The breast is something that supports newborn babies.

We have vulgarised the human body to such an extent that we see it mostly in terms of sex; we are ashamed of it.

I have to admit that from an adult's point of view, the act was sensual. But the sight of a mother breastfeeding her child became the most natural and beautiful thing I had ever seen.

Sure, women have always used their breasts to amplify their sexuality and attract men, but there is nothing vulgar or indecent about that part of their body.

Indeed, breasts have been celebrated by some of the greatest painters in history, such as Edouard Manet. And we, too, should admire its beauty.

I am not advocating that women walk around topless. What I am saying is that adults should stop implying that a woman's breasts are vulgar.

Children will grow up to appreciate breasts as adults do, but in the meantime they should be taught to appreciate them for their value to human life.

Jackson exposed more than a breast.

She exposed the hypocrisy that adults tend to propagate and corrupt children's minds with. There is no reason to bitch over Janet Jackson's fleshy parade at the Super Bowl

Ok... so he's saying that women's breasts are a beautiful thing, and that children should be taught to appreciate them for their value to human life. And that women should not walk around topless. And that we should stop corrupting children's minds by telling them that women's breasts are vulgar.

Uhh... i think i get his point. The breast is a beautiful thing, and it should not be vulgar, children should learn to appreciate it, and it should not be displayed. Ok....

Yesterday my karate class had three new students. All girls. Sadly, two of them were average and one of them semi-cute. But what was interesting is that they were ultra-gigly. They were giggling throughout the training. They were giggling while kicking. While punching. While sparring. What's up with the giggles? why do girls giggle so much????

Wardrope Malfunction, is what Justin Timberlake calls it. Calls what? Calls the incident where he 'accidentally' ripped off part of Janet Jackson's blouse(if you can even call it that) at the part where he sings "i'm gonna have you nekkid by the end of this song"

What? you thought i would forget to comment about something as interesting as this? Well, i'm all fine with Janet Jackson exposing herself live on national television, even if she is ugly and stuff to me. But apparently some people arent.

TV Viewer Sues Over Janet Bra-Ha-Ha

The suit fails to specify what injuries Carlin suffered when she saw Timberlake rip off part of Jackson's costume, exposing her breast, saying only that: "As a direct and proximate result of the broadcast of the acts, [Carlin] and millions of others saw the acts and were caused to suffer outrage, anger, embarrassment and serious injury."

The lawsuit argues the broadcast companies and the singers breached an "implied" contract with viewers not to subject them to sexually explicit acts during what should have been family entertainment.

"All of the defendants knew that the Super Bowl, the preeminent sports event in the United States, would be watched by millions of families and children," says the claim, filed by attorney Wayne Ritchie II.

Ok... so.. like.. looking at Janet Jackson's boobies can cause people to suffer outrage, anger, embarrassment and serious injury. Now, i get the outrage and embarassment part. But serious injury? How in the world do you get seriously injured by looking at some woman's boobies? most guys would be more than happy. *shrugs*

But some people are gaining from this. Namely, according to the Sunday Times, the people who make those breast shield thingies that Janet Jackson was wearing on her nipple when it was exposed. Apparently it works by piercing said nipple, then putting the heavy shield thing on the nipple, a bar going through the piercing and holding it there. Basically, a shield nipple piercing. It is beyond me why some people would want to go get a nipple piercing. Ear piercing, all right. Belly button piercing, all right. Tongue piercing, all right. but NIPPLE PIERCING!! OUCH!!!

I am now officially the most unfit guy in my class, and in the top 10% of most unfit people in the whole of Nanyang Polytechnic. I found this out on Friday when i went for my Napfa test and failed i terribly. And i MEAN terribly. My muscles were aching like crazy for saturday and sunday after that, and all for a failed Napfa grade. Ahh... i should start excercising soon. Like tomorrow. Or maybe wednesday. Nah, thursday's fine. Or maybe next monday, cos i'll be rather busy this week...

Ah, heck. I'm waiting to go in 2 months early for NS for the Physical Training Phase. At least there they'll force me to get fit.

I'm a busy, busy man. Ok, maybe not that busy, considering i slacked half the night away at a friend's place yesterday before watching American Idol. Which my favourite singer went out, btw. I absolutely LOVED scooter girl. Those that follow American Idol should know who she is. I'm crushed that she's out. I loved her personality, her willingness to learn, her sense of humour. Now i don't really support anyone in American Idol cos nobody really stands out. ah, well. i'll follow every episode deligently anyway:)

Anyway, time for a little promotion. This is for the Batman and Resident Evil fans. Have you ever wondered what would happen should one day Batman and Albert Wesker should fight? Well, its been written as a little piece of fanfiction, half by me. I'm Coin, and i play Batman in this little fanfic called Twas another night in Gotham City. It worked kinda like this : i started off playing as Batman and inviting someone to challenge him. Someone did, as Albert Wesker. And i write something, and he continues that story, and i continue it after that. Please be nice with the flames, cos i'm not that pro a writer ^.^

This morning i read the Straits Times. And i was utterly surprised at what i read. The first draft of the sports to be competed for medals in the next Sea Games has been published. Apparently sports that will NOT be in the next Sea Games will be.. get this... Football, Badminton, Shooting, Table Tennis etc etc... All core olympic sports. What will be competed is some strange philipines martial art i've never heard of before. This after the last Sea Games where sailing and bowling were left out for chapteh(shuttlecock kicking).

You know, the people in charge of the Sea games ought to be shot. leaving out important, olympic core sports for weird sports no one has heard off?? you gotta be kidding me.

Will there be an update today? no, cos i'm a very, very busy man right now. of course, no matter how busy i am, there will always be time for American Idol tonight....

then again, i'll write about something.

The vegetarian food shop(for those that don't know, i'm vegetarian. I may not look it, but i am.) sells lousy vegetables. The vegetables are overcooked. The cabbage is yellow. Very yellow. The sambal kang kong utterly sucks. Everyday they sell about 3 types of overcooked or ultra-raw vegetables, along with about 10+ types of vegetarian meat and deep fried stuff. Contrast this with the chinese food stall at the same canteen. They sell fresh, crunchy vegetables. Everyday about 5-7 types of great vegetables, and about 7-8 types of meat and deep fried stuff. No prizes for guessing which stall i eat at, even though i'm vegetarian.

I was watching Armegeddon yesterday(yes, they showed it on channel 5 for the thousandth time. And yes, i watched it for the thousandth time.i can't resist that show and Liv Tyler). And what caught my attention wasn't the movie. It wasn't even Liv Tyler or Aerosmith's big mouth. It was a Dettol advertisement. This is one of the lines from that advert :

Families who use Dettol fall sick regularly less often

Now, my english isn't the best in the world, but i thought you either fall sick regularly or you don't fall sick regularly? i mean, how in the world can you do something regularly less often????

There is a big hoo-ha in the sports pages of the Straits Times today. Egmar Goncalves, the brazillian who turned Singaporean a couple of years back, is going back to Brazil and will probably be forsaking his Sinagproe citizenship. Of course, many Singaporeans aren't very happy. And neither am I. Singapore spent tens of thousands of dollars on him. He had a return of 1 goal in 11 internation matches. One goal. ONE BLOODY GOAL. Then when he was kicked out of the Singapore national team so that more passionate and promising Singaporean younsters could play, he decides to drop everything and go back to Brazil. When he became a Singaporean, he said he loved the country. Now when he can't play anymore, he goes back.

Now, contrast this with Mirko Grabovac. He was the second player to take up the Singapore citizenship. He, too, will soon be leaving the S-League, and he too was more or less a failure at international level. But he's not going back. He's staying in Singapore to coach. When asked why, he said this : "Because i'm a Singaporea." Now THATS a good citizen. Not Egmar Goncalves. He can go back to Brazil for all I care.

OooOOo... The New Paper on Sunday always has plenty of stuff to write about. Apparently the colour sex bracelets have come to Singapore. The bracelets that were very popular in America are now here. What do i mean by sex bracelets? well, if you wear an orange bracelet, it means you want a lap dance. Yellw stands for a hug, green for oral sex and black sexual intercourse. How is it done? if you snap or break someone's black bracelet, he or she must have sex with you. Its the same for the other colours. Teachers have been confiscating bracelets like these in schools all over Singapore. In Singapore, according to most students interviewed, they didn't know anything about it. They only started wearing it because it was 'cool'. But shop owners also have been asked if they sell 'sex bracelets'. Which means many other students also know about it, and buy it for that. In fact, one student actually practices the sex bracelet thing because "Its fun, fashionable and its free. You just have to snatch it from someone to have sex."

Wow. I never knew Singaporeans were this open to sex. I thought Singaporeans were just into casual sex. I just didn't know THIS casual. Guess i'm one of those conservative ones who still think that sex is for after marriage. *shrugs*

Scary, posessive girlfriends. We hear many stories about them, and one of the best is in the New Paper. This poor guy would not be allowed to meet, or even talk on the phone to any female friends. His girlfriend would refuse to let him. The only way he could contact them was though sms. Even his male friends were not spared, as she would accuse him of putting them before him. His girlfriend would go through all his smses to see if anyone besides her had contacted him, even if it was work related or innocent messages like, "Hi, how are you?". Because it upset her to read any sms in his handphone, he would delete them before he got home everyday(they live together).

"She would say things like 'If those girlfriends of yours don't like you, why do they keep smsing you?", said Mr Tan. "I'd find the accusations baseless and leave her alone to calm her down, but she would get even angrier."

The last straw came on Mr Tan's birthday, when he received countless smses from females wishing him a happy birthday. Mr Tan's girlfriend was furious and wanted a breakup.

"I treasured that relationship but.. i couldn't carry on living with someone who couldn't trust me." Mr Tan said.

Now THAT is a possessive girlfriend. How Mr Tan took so long to break up with her(technically it was his girlfriend that broke up with him..) is beyond me. How he could treasure that relationship just blows my mind. i know love is blind but still....

There is a survey that was conducted in America, and apparently most Generation Y(ages 18-24) women would rather settle down, quit their jobs and have a family. The same survey was done in Singapore, and apparently a surprisingly high percentage of SEVENTY PERCENT of Gen Y women would be willing to put aside their degrees, diplomas etc and well-paying jobs to stay at home and have kids. That's actually their dream, or goal, to stay at home and take care of the kids as their husbands go out to work. Gen X(ages 25-35) women, however, have only 40% thinking this way.

Why the sudden change? I have absolutely no idea. Before the feminists start accusing me of being chauvenistic, i would like to clarify that i do not think the woman's place is in the home. I believe, that when you have kids, that at least one parent has to stay at home to take care of the kid, the sex is not an issue. I'm fine with husbands staying at home, and if need be, i would stay at home while my wifey goes out to work(only if she earns much more money than me, though). It has been proven that kids with a stay-at-home parent turn out to be much better members of society. And it heartening to know that about 70% of the next generation of kids will have a stay-at-home parent.
