17 boys were made to stand outside for 7 hours for posessing a pornography in some school. Without food or drink. Many parents were angry at the way they were treated, while others were angry at their children for actually doing something like that. One kid even was sent to the hospital because he had an intestine condition that requires him to have food and water or the walls of his intestine would fuse together, and he didn't bother to tell the teachers that. The boy bought the porno VCD for $10, and got all his friends in trouble.

My question is, why in the world would you buy porno when its available for free all over the internet, KAZZA, WinMX and other file-sharing programs?

Some writer wrote in to 8 Days talking about their previous issue featuring Sharon Au and how she buys branded goods and stuff, even though she says she's not materialistic. Or rather, slamming Sharon Au. But what's wrong with a star buying branded goods? This is the letter :

Your Fake vs Real issue was of special interest because you seem to have missed the biggest fake of all - your cover girl sharon Au. I don't think its wrong that she is materialistic, but why does she try to hide it by suggesting money is of no value to her? This is the same host who is the first to cry at charity shows. Her heart goes out to the less fortunate when the cameras are rolling but off camera she would rather spend her money on designer goods and "buy happiness now" than to share it with the underprivileged.

Andrew See

OK... while i agree with the first part that if she thinks money is of no value to her she shouldn't be buying designer goods. But the second part? So he is criticising Sharon for buying designer goods and not giving the money to charity? Just because she hosts charity shows? I have no idea how much money Sharon Au gives to charity, and i have no idea how much Andrew gives to charity, but i don't think that he should expect her to stop buying designer goods with the money she worked so hard for. While i admit that giving it to charity may be a better option, he certainly could have phrased his letter better. He doesn't portray himself very well in the letter. What right has the guy to say something like that about Sharon Au, eh? Is he the perfect guy who gives all his money to charity?

And Britney Spears opens her mouth again :

Singer Britney Spears has denied her new raunchy image is setting a bad influence for her young fans - she's simply letting them live their dreams.

The 21-year-old has posed for scantily clad pictures, and publicly kissed MADONNA recently, as well as bursting back onto the pop scene with a provocative live show - but Spears strongly denies accusations her sexed up new image is corrupting her young fan base.

She argues, "That's ridiculous. It's inspiring for a kid to know that you can have a dream that can happen. It's positive to see that you can fantasise about being on stage. It's like dress-up and being a kid."

Spears is particularly erked at parents who now stop their children from watching her perform - as it could lead to drug addiction problems in later life.

She says, "I feel sorry for the kids whose parents don't let them watch TV. Those are the kids who go to college and become drug heads because they've been so cooped up all their lives."

Ahh... so acting like a slut, wearing only diamonds for a music video, stripping on stage and kissing madonna is actually a good influence on kids? While i admit that its up to the kids themselves to decide who they'll be influenced by, i think that statement is just WRONG. Kids that don't watch tv go to college and take drugs because they've been so cooped up all their lives?????!!!111 how in the world did she come to that conclusion?
