I was watching Armegeddon yesterday(yes, they showed it on channel 5 for the thousandth time. And yes, i watched it for the thousandth time.i can't resist that show and Liv Tyler). And what caught my attention wasn't the movie. It wasn't even Liv Tyler or Aerosmith's big mouth. It was a Dettol advertisement. This is one of the lines from that advert :

Families who use Dettol fall sick regularly less often

Now, my english isn't the best in the world, but i thought you either fall sick regularly or you don't fall sick regularly? i mean, how in the world can you do something regularly less often????

There is a big hoo-ha in the sports pages of the Straits Times today. Egmar Goncalves, the brazillian who turned Singaporean a couple of years back, is going back to Brazil and will probably be forsaking his Sinagproe citizenship. Of course, many Singaporeans aren't very happy. And neither am I. Singapore spent tens of thousands of dollars on him. He had a return of 1 goal in 11 internation matches. One goal. ONE BLOODY GOAL. Then when he was kicked out of the Singapore national team so that more passionate and promising Singaporean younsters could play, he decides to drop everything and go back to Brazil. When he became a Singaporean, he said he loved the country. Now when he can't play anymore, he goes back.

Now, contrast this with Mirko Grabovac. He was the second player to take up the Singapore citizenship. He, too, will soon be leaving the S-League, and he too was more or less a failure at international level. But he's not going back. He's staying in Singapore to coach. When asked why, he said this : "Because i'm a Singaporea." Now THATS a good citizen. Not Egmar Goncalves. He can go back to Brazil for all I care.
