Usually when i talk about soccer, its about the Singapore soccer team losing to who knows who. But today, i'm going to talk about another soccer team. The American Samoa soccer team lost 11-0 to the Newzealand Olympic team. But what's so interesting about the American Samoa team losing? I mean, why should we care? Its not like they're england of anything.. well... Click Here

New Zealand would have been better served with a training session than the walkover gifted them by American Samoa at North Harbour Stadium tonight. Whilst the final score of 11-0 suggests a comprehensive victory, the reality was an attitude from American Samoa that bordered on unsportsmanlike behaviour.

From the kick off it was apparent the fight would not be a substantial one, the ball was delivered first kick to Tamati Williams in the New Zealand goal, quickly followed by the sight of 10 American Samoans joining their own keeper in the penalty area, ready to defend - or at least stand in the way.

The small crowd didn't know whether to laugh, boo or cry at the sight of American Samoa throwing in directly to New Zealand players or delaying at every possible opportunity, hoping the clock would move faster than the score. It was crazy stuff indeed and didn't do themselves nor Oceania any good with regards the strength of soccer in the region.

That has GOT to be the FUNNIEST football match in the history of football! Booting the ball to the New Zealand goalkeeper, then 10 player scuttling back to their own penalty box.

btw, what do you people think of me using smilies/emoticons in my posts?
