There is a woman in The New Paper today. She is doing what Singaporeans do best. Complaining. And i totally agree with what she is complaining about. You see, she signed up for a plan with M1, and that plan entitles her to a free phone. However, when her phone arrived, there were 57 numbers already stored in phone. Which meant one thing : M1 gave her a second hand phone, something that's not supposed to happen. So, she goes down to the shop, and is told to go to another shop to voice her concerns. And she did.

This is where i stop agreeing with her. Upon reaching the shop, she talked to the manager. The manager understood, apologised and offered to give her a new phone. Understandable, right? But was she happy? No. That was not good enough for her. She demanded more. M1 offered her a free $30 hands free set. Was she happy? No. She demanded more. She wanted 50% off her 2 year M1 plan, and a handphone of another make of the same value. The manager went to discuss it with the higher ups. They said no. The woman wasn't happy, and left the shop. What did she tell The New Paper?

I never got a formal apology from M1, and until now i don't know whether the higher authorities have been informed of this matter. How can they do something like that? I want a formal explanation

What was M1's explanation? They said that its not possible that she was given a second hand phone. It was possible that after the phone was tested by the company, they may have forgotten to delete the contacts from the phone.

M1 had offered her a new phone, plus a free hands free set worth $30 bucks as a form of an apology. She wanted 50% of her two year plan. FIFTY PERCENT OFF. Tell me which phone company will accept that just because they gave their customer a 'second hand' phone? And when she didn't get that, she walked away. Right now, The New Paper reports, she's still using that same phone with the 57 contacts in it. She did not save any of her phone numbers in it, and instead uses a manual address book, because she does not want to store any numbers in her phone. She has not deleted any of the 57 contacts.

She is greedy. And stupid. Honestly. She could have walked away with a new phone, a new hands free set, but instead she's using the old phone with no hands free set, and wasted all her time going down. Somebody save us from the stupidity.
