An interesting case is in The New Paper today. A Ms Andrea Martin wanted to have more children. But her husband had already had a vasectomy, and could not oblige. So she paid a visit to the family doctor to seek advice on artificial insemination. Her doctor alledgedly offered to be the sperm donor, and asked if she wanted it done naturally or artificially.

"I didn't know what to expect that day, " she said.

So, the next day, she agreed to natural insemination. And so she and her doctor had sex on a mattress in his clinic, and he charged her for his service and time. It marked a series of several sexual encounters between them, she alledged. He had also apparently fathered two of her children, aged 7 and 9.

Ms Martin's former husband(note the word former) lodged a complain, explosing this relationship. Ms Martin testified that she had gone to the clinic believing she was to be inseminated artificially by sperm from an anonymous donor. She added that she was in total shock when Dr Hood(the family doctor) announced that he would be the sperm donor. They had sex, and she became pregnant. She gave birth to a child in 1994 and 1996, both of which she claims was fathered by Dr Hood. Dr Hood denied all charges against him, and denied that he had sex with Ms Martin between Novenber 1993 and October 1995 and fathered two of her children.

Ok... let me see if i get this straight. Ms Martin went to the clinic to be artificially inseminated. She was utterly shocked when he announced that he would be the donor. But even then, she agreed to have sex with Dr Hood, 'natural insemination'. After that, she went back several times. Each time, she paid him for his service and time. He even fathered two of her kids. And now he is in court denying all this, and facing charges of perjury, for alledgedly lying that he didn't have sex with her, as she and her ex-husband claimed in his complaint to the medical board.

Do you think Singaporeans are dependent on their parents, and are very greedy? Well, some spanish people are many times worse. A struggling invalid dad, who receives a pension of 980 euros a month, has been ordered to support his 25-year old engineering graduated son. His son, who has graduated from school and is currently doing unpaid work experience while he considers his options, has gone to court to sue his invalid father. The court ruled in favour of the graduate, working age son, and ordered the invalid 48 year old father to pay 225 euroes to his son as parents are suppossed to support their kids.

Another man, currently working as a fireman, was ordered by the court to pay for the upkeep of two of his working sons, one a notary, one of the highest paying jobs in the Spain. The sons had apparently gone to court to force their father to continue to support them. In Spain, the average age that a man leaves home is.. drumroll... 30 years old. For a woman, its 28 years. Apparently Singaporean kids aren't the only pampered ones around....
