After every Charity Show, where celebrities do stupid 'dangerous' stunts to raise money for charity, there is always the obligatory complaint letter to the Straits Times. Complaining about the need for such stunts to raise charity. And this time, after the Ren Ci Charity Show, bu channel I and U, it was no different. The letter questions why the daredevil monk would risk his life for charity. Now, my view is this. There is a difference between these charity shows and other daredevils. One daredevil can swing from rooftop to rooftop with nothing but a stick and some string, but that's not what i'm talking about. Charity shows like that, i believe, will not risk the life of the celebrity involved. If that Darren person, who was by the way hanging upside down under some burning thing tied by a rope, was truely in danger, they would have lowered that thing, put out the fire and rescued him. The monk had stuff put on him, his pulse monitered by doctors for a reason. Safety. Charity Shows are safe. They have to be. Their respective TV stations can't risk losing, or even paralysing any of their stars. They never will.
