Can't Stand These Ads...
I understand that ads usually exaggerate their product. They do illogical things to emphasize what their product can do. I get it. Seriously. But some ads i just look at and go... huh?
For example, there is an ad for extrim fit. Its a weight loss ad, and though i don't agree with some of them(seriously... making a stick-thin Fann Wong into a wire-thin Fann Wong? Who ever thought of that idea?) i have nothing against them. Except the ad for extrim fit. See, extrim fit has exhausted their models and are now looking for new ones. They are advertising for people who have lost weight to send them their before and after photos, and they may hire them for their next ad.
In other words, if YOU have lost weight BY YOURSELF over the past few months(*cough*faith*cough*), then send your before and after pics to Extrim Fit so they can use you in their advertisements and claim credit for the weight YOU painfully lost! Of course you get some money and fame lah.
But am i missing the boat here when i expect a weight loss product i buy to actually cause the model to LOSE some weight?
Another ad that caught my eye was the one where there's this family who is trying to get a little kid to eat his food, to very little success. He's hiding under the table, running away and getting into all sorts of mischief. I start to wonder what ad its for, then they start to talk about the getting this MILK formula to give the kid all the nutrition he needs! You know what? i have a cheaper way! Instead of paying so much money for an expensive milk formula, do it the old fasioned way! It doesn't cost you a cent! This is how my mom used to do it :
Christon's Mom : Ah boy, come and eat your dinner and vegetables.
Little Christon : I don't want! I don't want!
*Christon's Mom goes off and grabs the nearest hard object which happens to be a long wooden spoon and knocks Little Christon on the head*
Christon's Mom : Ah Boy, now do you want to eat your dinner and vegetables?
*Little Christon hurriedly stuffs his mouth with his dinner and vegetables*
And.. i get all the nutrition i need! And my mother doesn't even need to spend a cent! How cool is that?
