Teacher accused of airing pornographic videos in class

A MARRIED teacher is facing an investigation after a female student complained to the Education Ministry that he had shown pornographic videos during class.

Two of her classmates, whom The Straits Times contacted, alleged their teacher had been airing the videos since March.

They claim that he would turn off the lights and close the door and windows before playing the video clips, which had been downloaded onto his laptop.

He is alleged to have told his students that he wanted them to relax and take their minds off work for a while, and shown clips lasting for up to 45 minutes as a 'treat' at least three times a week.

A male student, 17, said: 'Our class is made up of mainly boys who obviously enjoy the show, but the girls are not so comfortable with it.'

Michelle also alleged that the teacher offered to give her the answers to the mid-year examinations when she told him that she wanted to quit because she could not manage the subject.

She claimed to have told him 'that there was no point in getting a certificate without really understanding what I'm supposed to learn.'

When The Straits Times contacted the teacher, he said he had been given strict instructions by his school not to say anything.

'But I will clear my name,' he added.

Hmm.. showing pornographic videos in class, you say? Now THATS daring. But i'm sure that it really took the student's minds off work and helped them to relax, so the teacher got that right... hehe...
