Malaysia is banning ads with women on them. Regardless of how much clothing they wear. As long as they're women, they cannot be on poster ads. Hehe. Typical Malaysia. They ought to see Singapore where women in lingerie are on ads in most MRT stations.

A letter in STREATS today. Talking about Singapore's Brainiest Kid. This guy says that the show should not be named Singapore's Brainiest. He says, and I quote, "But this program, we are seeking Singapore's brainiest kid based on nothing more than a dead-level abstraction - or merely a knowledge of trivia. Allow me to explain. Trivia is a lower-level abstraction where information isolated from a larger context not generalised beyond the simple fact, is required." Uhh.. ok, i didn't really understand that. He then goes on to say, "According to Sir Francis Galton, pioneer investigator of the human brain and author of Hereditary Genius, intelligence is a sum of intellect, zeal and power of work. Spearman, the inventor of factor analysis and author of The Abilities of Man, saw intellegence as the ability to educe relations and correlates." I have absolutely NO IDEA what he's talking about. "There ar emany others who have offered their view, but not one saw dead-level abstraction, or the regurgitation of facts in isolation, as a facet of intelligence. This then brings into question how this one facet by itself can allow one to lay claim to the title "brainiest", he concludes. Ah, think i get it. He says that regurgitating information does not show someone as being intelligent.

Its a game show. Live with it.
